## What is My Workspace (personal scope)

My Workspace is your personal file area — a private space that belongs to you, not to any project. It holds files you upload through the assistant chat when no project is active, plus anything you store there yourself.

When you switch to My Workspace, the whole app runs in "personal scope": project pages are unavailable and the sidebar shows only personal items. Files in My Workspace are visible only to you — no project member or admin can see them.

## How to switch to My Workspace

1. Click the project picker at the top of the sidebar (where your current project name is shown).
2. Choose "Personal" / My Workspace from the list.
3. The app switches to personal scope and you land on your workspace files.

Your choice persists — if you close the app while in personal scope, you come back to personal scope next time. No permission is needed; everyone has a personal workspace.

## What is available in personal scope

In personal scope the sidebar offers: Home (a welcome page with Create-a-project and Join-a-project shortcuts), My Workspace (your files), Projects, Project drafts, and the Assistant chat.

You can also open your Profile, Settings, Feedback, Support, and About pages, join or create projects, and resume project drafts.

Project pages — Assets, Issues, RFIs, Documentation, Planner, Trackers, Dashboards, Reviews, and so on — are not available in personal scope. If you try to open one, you are redirected to My Workspace. Switch back to a project to use them.

## Working with files in My Workspace

My Workspace uses the same file manager as project Documentation, so everything works the way you already know:

- Create folders, upload files or whole folders, and drag & drop to organise.
- Search, sort, switch between grid and list views, star favourites, and preview files.
- Rename, move, download, and delete items; deleted items go to a trash you can restore from.

The only difference is scope: everything here is yours alone.

## Where chat uploads go

Files you attach in the assistant chat while no project is active (for example when chatting from personal scope) are stored in a chat folder inside My Workspace.

Inside the file manager, the "Chat files" view in the left sidebar lists everything uploaded through the assistant, so you can find, download, or clean up those files at any time. Chat-uploaded attachments are private to you.

## Storage limit for My Workspace

My Workspace has a storage limit. A slim Storage meter at the top of the My Workspace page shows the space you have used next to your total, in GB. Hover it to read: "Space used by your personal files and chat uploads."

- The bar turns amber once you have used 80% of the space.
- The bar turns red when you are over the limit.
- The size of the limit is set by the service, not in your settings — the meter always shows your current total. If no limit applies, the meter is not shown.

What happens when the space is full:
- New uploads are refused with a storage-quota message. Nothing already stored is removed.
- Restoring an item from the Trash view can also fail with a storage-quota message, because a restored file counts towards your space again.

To free up space:
1. Open My Workspace and find files you no longer need — the Chat files view is a good place to start, and sorting by size helps.
2. Delete them. Deleting frees the space straight away, even while the files are still in the trash.
3. Try your upload or restore again.

## Who can see my workspace files

Only you. My Workspace is strictly personal:

- Files there never appear to project members, project admins, or anyone else.
- They are not part of any project's Documentation.
- Files you upload through chat land in your workspace and stay private to you.

If you want to share a file with a project team, switch to that project and upload it into the project's Documentation instead.

## How to switch back to a project

1. Click the project picker at the top of the sidebar.
2. Choose the project you want to work in.
3. The app switches back to project scope and all project pages become available again.

You can move between projects and your personal workspace as often as you like — nothing is lost when you switch.
