Welcome to Cx Assistant
Cx Assistant is the AI-powered commissioning platform: one place for your project's assets, issues, RFIs, documentation, trackers and dashboards — with an assistant that can answer questions and do the work with you.
This short course walks you through the essentials, each with a mini video. You can watch them in order or jump to the one you need. If you were invited to a project, you're already set — pick the project at the top of the sidebar. If you're starting fresh, create a project from the Home screen and the setup checklist on the dashboard will guide you through the rest.
Tip: press Ctrl+K (⌘K on Mac) anywhere to search across the whole app — pages, assets, issues, documents and this help.
Create your account
Creating an account takes three short steps and you are signed in at the end:
- Your email. Type your work email on the sign-up page and click Continue. By continuing you agree to the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy; both open from the links under the button.
- The code. We email you a 6-digit code. Type it in (on a phone, the keyboard usually offers it). On the web, the email also has a button that takes you straight to the next step. The code expires after a few minutes; Send a new code gets you another one.
- Your details. Your name, an optional surname and a password (at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number; the meter under the field tells you how strong it is). Click Create account and you land in Cx Assistant, already signed in.
Or use Google or Apple. The buttons above the email field sign you in with that account in one step; the first time, a Cx Assistant account is created for the same email address. If you already have an account with that email, we connect the two (a code to your inbox may be asked once). In Settings → Security → Sign-in methods you can connect or disconnect Google and Apple later, as long as one way to sign in remains.
If the email already belongs to an account, we do not say so on the page — we email that address instead, with a sign-in button and a password reset link.
Invited to a project? Open the invite link first: the sign-up page then knows your email, skips the code, and your new account joins the project the moment it is created.
To change the email of an existing account, go to Settings → Profile: we send a code to the new address and switch the account over once you type it in.
Create your first asset
Assets are the equipment you're commissioning — AHUs, chillers, panels, VAV boxes.
- Open Assets in the sidebar.
- Click Add asset.
- Give it a tag (like AHU-L2-01), pick its type and location, and save.
That's it — the asset now has its own dossier where issues, documents and test scripts will collect. You can also import many assets at once, or just snap a photo of a nameplate in the chat and let the assistant fill the fields for you.
Raise your first issue
Issues (punch list items, defects, snags) are the heartbeat of commissioning.
- Open Issues in the sidebar and click Add issue.
- Describe what's wrong, link the asset, set priority and assignee.
Or let the assistant do it: open the chat, attach a photo of the defect and write "raise an issue for this". The assistant reads the photo, drafts the issue, links the asset and assigns it — you just confirm.
Create your first RFI
When something needs an answer from the design team or another party, raise an RFI (request for information).
- Open RFIs in the sidebar and click Add RFI.
- Write the question, attach any drawings or photos, and set who it's directed to.
RFIs get their own numbering, status flow and due dates, so nothing waits in an inbox unnoticed — and the assistant can summarize which RFIs are still open whenever you ask.
Upload documentation and ask about it
!Watch: documents and the assistant
Drop your project files — specs, drawings, O&M manuals, test reports — into Documentation. Drag and drop works, folders keep things tidy, and every document gets a viewer with page thumbnails and markups.
The real power: once a document is in, the assistant has read it. Ask "what does the spec say about duct pressure testing?" and you get an answer with citations that jump straight to the page. You can also link documents to assets and track which required documents each asset still owes.
What can I ask the assistant?
The chat isn't just for questions — the assistant works inside your project with the same permissions you have. Some things to try:
- "What are my open issues, ordered by priority?"
- "Raise an issue on AHU-L2-01: the belt guard is missing" (attach a photo and it reads it)
- "Summarize the RFIs that are still waiting on the design team"
- "What does the spec say about pipework insulation?"
- "Create a SAT script for the chiller based on the manufacturer's manual"
- "Which assets are still missing their test certificates?"
The assistant shows its work as it goes — every search, every record it creates — and asks before anything important. If you're ever unsure what a page does, ask the assistant or search this help.
Get Cx Assistant everywhere
Cx Assistant lives in more places than this browser tab:
- iOS and Android apps — capture photos and raise issues from the field, with the full assistant in your pocket.
- Word add-in — the assistant writes reports in Word from live project data.
- Excel add-in — build dashboards and issue lists in Excel with the assistant driving the sheet.
To find all the download links and install guides in one place:
- Click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Choose Get the apps.
The page also shows an Apple Watch card marked "Coming soon", and a Watch the intro tour button if you want to see the welcome tour again. Sign in to every app with the same account you use here. The add-ins have their own help module here too — see "Cx Assistant for Word & Excel".
