How to open and close the navigation drawer

The main navigation in CX Assistant mobile is a sliding side drawer.

To open the drawer:

  • Tap the hamburger icon (☰) in the header of any main screen.
  • Or swipe right from the very left edge of the screen.

To close the drawer:

  • Tap anywhere outside the drawer panel.
  • Or swipe the drawer back to the left.

While open, the drawer pushes the screen content to the right. The drawer is available from every main screen, and its width adapts on tablets and in split-screen modes.

What is in the navigation drawer

From top to bottom, the drawer contains:

  1. The project card — the name and code of the project you are in, or My Workspace. Tap it to switch project or to join one.
  2. The module list — up to ten rows: Chat, Home, Issues, RFIs, Planner, Scripts, Assets, Map, Layouts, and Documents. Map and Layouts appear only when that module is turned on for the project. The section you are currently on is highlighted.
  3. Your chat history — previous conversations with the AI assistant, plus a New chat button.
  4. Your profile card — avatar, name, and email, at the very bottom. Tap it to open your Profile screen. Sign out is on the Profile screen, not in the drawer.

Notifications has no row in the drawer. Tap the bell in the header of any main screen instead.

In My Workspace, and until you join your first project, the module list shows only Chat and Documents. While you have no projects it also shows a Join project row.

The drawer rows themselves are not hidden by your role — individual screens may still require project permissions.

The Sync row in the drawer

Below the module rows, the drawer has a Sync row (needs an up-to-date version of the app). It is always there, in every project and in My Workspace.

Tap it to open the Sync screen, which lists the script work your phone has not sent yet — for example steps you filled in with no signal — and anything that needs your decision before it can be sent.

The row shows a number when something is waiting or needs your attention, counted across all your projects. When an item needs your attention, the row's icon changes to a warning. No number means everything has been sent.

The Sync screen opens on top of the screen you are on; use the back button to return. See the Scripts help for what the Sync screen shows and how to work offline.

The main sections of the app

The app has up to ten main sections, switched from the drawer:

  • Chat: The AI assistant — this is also the landing screen after you sign in.
  • Home: Read-only project insights — KPI tiles and charts for issues and assets.
  • Issues: View, create, and manage project issues.
  • RFIs: Requests for information, with official responses and due dates.
  • Planner: A calendar of planner activities (month, week, and day views).
  • Scripts: Find and execute commissioning scripts.
  • Assets: Browse, create, and update project assets.
  • Map: Your sites, buildings and assets on a map. Shown only when the Map module is on for the project.
  • Layouts: Interactive 3D plans of your site. Shown only when the Layouts module is on for the project.
  • Documents: Browse, upload, and manage project files and folders.

The Notifications inbox is not in the drawer. Tap the bell in the header of any main screen to open it.

Tap any item in the drawer to switch to it. Sections switch with a quick fade — there is no back button between main sections; use the drawer to move around. Detail screens (like Profile or a script runner) slide in on top and support swipe-back.

The notification bell and its badge

Every main screen has a bell in its header, on the right. It carries a badge with the number of notifications you have not yet seen (it shows 9+ above nine). The same count is mirrored on the app icon. There is no Notifications row in the drawer.

How to open your notifications:

  1. Tap the bell. A Notifications sheet slides up over the screen you are on, so you do not lose your place.
  2. Tap a notification to go to it, or tap See all to open the full Notifications screen.

Opening the sheet or the Notifications screen acknowledges the badge: everything is marked as seen, the badge clears, and stacked system notifications are dismissed. Individual notifications stay bold until you read them.

Chat history in the drawer

All previous chat conversations are listed in the drawer, most recent first, and are available from every screen.

  • Tap the New chat button at the top of the history list to start a fresh conversation.
  • The active chat is highlighted.
  • Tap any conversation to reopen it.
  • Scroll down to load older chats — the list loads 20 at a time as you scroll.

The chat header — menu, project chip, bell, and new chat

The Chat screen header has four floating glass chips:

  • Left: the hamburger chip (☰) opens the drawer.
  • Centre: the project chip shows your active project's name, or My Workspace when you are in your personal workspace. Tap it to open the project picker, where you can switch projects, go to My Workspace, or join a project with an invite code.
  • Right: the bell opens your notifications and carries a badge with your unseen notification count.
  • Far right: the compose icon starts a new chat.

Until you join your first project, the Chat screen also shows an onboarding banner guiding you to join one.

Switching projects

To switch between projects:

  1. Open the drawer (☰) and tap the project card at the top. On the Chat screen you can also tap the project chip in the centre of the header.
  2. The Select project sheet opens with My Workspace first, then your project list (name, code, and a check on the active one).
  3. Tap a project to switch to it, or tap My Workspace for your personal workspace.

At the bottom of the sheet, the Join project row opens the invite-code screen for joining another project.

When you switch, the app clears cached data and re-fetches your permissions for the new project, so all screens (Issues, Assets, Documents, Planner, etc.) show the newly selected project's data. Creating projects is only possible on the web app.

Contact support — submit a ticket

You can contact the CX Assistant support team directly from the app.

How to submit a support ticket:

  1. Open the drawer (☰) and tap your profile card at the bottom.
  2. On the Profile screen, tap Support.
  3. Select a reason for your request: Subscription, Technical, Account, Feature request, or Other.
  4. Describe your issue or request in the details field.
  5. Tap Submit.
  6. You will see a confirmation with your ticket ID — tap it to copy it to the clipboard.

Keep the ticket ID in case you need to follow up.

Support website and email

In addition to in-app tickets, you can also reach support through:

  • The support website (linked from the Support screen).
  • Email: support@cx-assistant.com

For the fastest response, use the in-app ticket form — it automatically includes your account information.

Reading the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

To read the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy:

  1. Open the drawer (☰) and tap your profile card at the bottom.
  2. On the Profile screen, find the Privacy & Legal section.
  3. Tap Terms of Service or Privacy Policy — the document opens in an in-app viewer.

You accepted both documents when you created your account, and you can review them at any time.

Sign out

To sign out:

  1. Open the drawer by tapping ☰.
  2. Tap your profile card at the bottom of the drawer.
  3. On the Profile screen, scroll down and tap Sign out.

There is no Sign out button in the drawer itself. You will be returned to the sign-in screen and your locally cached data is cleared.

If your phone still holds script changes that have not been sent, an "Unsent changes" message appears first. Choose Sign out and keep them — they stay on the phone and are sent after you sign in again — or Discard and sign out, or Cancel.

To sign back in, enter your credentials on the sign-in screen.

Floating glass headers and collapsing search bars

Screens in CX Assistant use a floating "liquid glass" header — lists scroll behind a translucent header bar rather than stopping under it.

On list screens (Issues, RFIs, Assets, and others), the search and filter rows tuck away automatically when you scroll down, giving the content more room. Scroll back up and they return. This is normal behaviour, not a missing search bar — just scroll up a little to bring it back.

Bottom sheets — how detail and picker panels work

Most detail views and forms in the app open as bottom sheets — panels that slide up from the bottom of the screen with a drag handle at the top.

  • Swipe the sheet down (or tap outside it) to dismiss it.
  • When you edit a select field inside a sheet (for example an issue's status), a compact picker slides up inside the same sheet instead of opening a new screen. Choose a value and the picker slides back down.
  • Scroll within a sheet to see all of its content.

You will meet this pattern when viewing issues, RFIs, assets, planner activities, document actions, and more.

Pull to refresh and infinite scroll

Two gestures work on virtually every list in the app:

  • Pull to refresh: drag down from the top of a list and release to reload it from the server. Use this to pick up changes made by teammates.
  • Infinite scroll: long lists (Issues, RFIs, Assets, Scripts, Notifications, chat history, document versions) load a page at a time. When you scroll near the bottom, the next page loads automatically and a small loading indicator appears.

Search fields across the app update results automatically after a short pause while you type — there is no separate search button.

Dark mode and language

The app follows your device's light or dark appearance automatically. To override it, open your Profile (drawer → profile card) and use the dark mode switch in the Appearance section — the change applies immediately.

The app's interface language can be changed from the language picker in your Profile details. Content authored by your project — project names, status labels, announcements — is always shown exactly as it was written and is never translated.

Using the app on a tablet

CX Assistant adapts to larger screens. On tablets and in split-screen or Slide Over modes:

  • Content is capped to a comfortable column width so lines stay readable.
  • The navigation drawer adapts its width to the available space.
  • Grid views (such as Documents in grid mode) show more columns.

All features work the same as on a phone.

App not responding or showing an error

If the app freezes, shows an unexpected error, or seems to be missing data:

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Pull down to refresh on any list screen.
  3. Close and reopen the app.
  4. If the problem persists, submit a support ticket: drawer → profile card → Support.

For critical issues, email support@cx-assistant.com and include your ticket ID or a description of the problem.
