Scripts

Every test, signed and on record.

A script is a test or commissioning procedure you fill in: Pass, Fail or N/A on each step, measured values, notes, photo evidence and signatures. Scripts are created from templates the project publishes, run on the web or on the phone, and lock once completed.

What you can do

Templates the project publishes

A template defines the sections, the checklist items, the readings each item collects with their valid ranges, and who must sign. Publish it and every script created from it follows the same procedure.

Pass, Fail or N/A on every step

Each item has result buttons and a notes area. Required items are marked, each completed item shows who did it, and entries save as you go.

Readings checked against a range

Items can ask for measurements. A value outside its range is flagged but does not stop you; when you complete the script, empty required fields and out-of-range values are listed so you can fix them or accept them.

Photo evidence on the step

Attach photos or files to any item. On the phone, take the picture with the camera or pick it from the library, and everyone working the script sees it.

Signatures on a pad

The script lists its signature slots. The expected signer draws the signature, adds a comment, or rejects the slot instead. A required signature that is missing blocks completion.

Completed scripts lock

Once every step has a result and every required signature is in, Complete script locks the record. Reopen puts it back in progress when a correction is needed, and accepted warnings stay in the history.

How a team uses it

  1. 1

A project admin builds the template on the web: sections, items, readings with their ranges and signature slots, then publishes it.

  2. 2

An engineer creates a script from the template in Documentation, or a script slot in an Asset Docs tracker ties the procedure to a specific asset.

  3. 3

On site, the technician opens the script on the phone, records results and readings, takes a photo of each step and signs on the pad, with or without signal.

  4. 4

The script is completed and locked; any empty or out-of-range values are listed first so they can be fixed or accepted.

  5. 5

The completed script is sent to a review, where approvers decide on it and the outcome is stamped on it like any document.

In more detail

Where scripts live

Scripts and templates are documents in the Documentation tree, next to the drawings and reports. While a script is open, the sidebar shows its section outline, and an inspector shows its details and change history.

Working together

Several people can work the same script. You see who has it open, a field someone is editing is locked for the others, and their entries appear in real time.

Offline on the phone

Every script you open stays on the phone for a week, and Keep on this phone keeps one until you unmark it. Results, photos, signatures and the completion are kept on the phone and sent when the connection returns; a Sync screen shows what is still waiting.

Who can use scripts

By default only project admins see and run scripts. Reading, executing, signing, editing the structure and managing templates are separate permissions a project can grant to other roles.

Questions

Yes. Keep the script on the phone before you leave. Results, readings, notes, photos, signatures and the completion are stored on the phone and sent when you are back online. Opening a script that is not on the phone yet needs a connection.

It is flagged on the item and listed as a warning when you complete the script. You can go back and fix it or complete anyway; accepted warnings are recorded in the script's history. Record the value you actually measured.

A completed script is read-only. Use Reopen to put it back in progress, make the correction and complete it again. A script reopened after being sent to review has to be completed and resubmitted.
